Match of the Round: UTS Northside Futsal Club 2-2 Dural Warriors
Our featured match this weekend saw UTS Northside and Dural Warriors share the points at PCYC Northern Beaches.
The third of a four-game home stand, UTS Northside will move onto next weekend with a win and a draw to their name. Nathan Amore and Edward Caspers finding the back of the net for the hosts.
While it was a point in their first game for Dural Warriors. They managed to hold on late in the fixture after an Ahmed Sweedan red card. Jacob Basden and Andrew Luttringer were their goal scorers.
Safe to say UTS Northside would have loved the start they made. Nathan Amore opening the scoring in the 6th minute from a tight angle.
A goal which woke the visitors up, Ahmed Sweedan having a one-on-one opportunity saved by Jett Griffiths in the Northside net before Karim Moursi cleared it off the line.
However, they weren’t denied their next opportunity, Dural captain Basden leveling things with a toe poke past the keeper after skipping past a challenge on the left touchline.
One save at either end following the two goals, before Eddie Caspers restored UTS Northside’s lead. His first time shot finding the net on 17 minutes.
The hectic action in the first half curtailed with another Dural Warriors equalizer. Andrew Luttringer finished off balance after Joshua Montgomery slipped a ball through to him.
Of the two sides, UTS Northside were stronger in the early stages of the second half. Michael Borg hit the post with an initial effort before disguising a pass to Amore who drew a save from Omid Ramezani.
Before Saxon Hillyer nearly did it all himself rounding the keeper before his shot was blocked on the line by Bradon Clissold.
Dural responding with their first shot on 27 minutes, Jett Griffiths denying a powerful Ahmed Sweedan strike.
However, it was UTS Northside that looked the most likely at this point. Luttringer denying the hosts with a diving header on the goal line while Ramezani continued to make some crucial saves despite taking some heave knocks.
Warriors living up to their name in the late stages despite being reduced in number after Ahmed Sweedan saw red.
UTS Northside host Boomerangs FS next weekend. While Dural Warriors host Mascot Vipers in round 4 action.
