Mascot Vipers 7-1 Dural Warriors
A pre-finals statement of intent? Mascot Vipers bounced back in style against Dural Warriors with a 7-1 victory.
Heading into the games after a couple of disappointing performances, Mascot Vipers turned in a professional performance in this one with Ethan De Melo and Yianni Platoniotis returning to the squad.
While the missing Daniel Fornito and Mikah Chilas allowed youngsters Hikun Nguyen and Cameron Duong to step up. Hikun Nguyen opening the score in the 11th minute.
Nguyen was joined by Yianni Plataniotis and Ethan De Melo on the scoresheet to give them a 3-0 halftime lead.
The Vipers continued to run away with the game in the second half with Ethan De Melo and Hikun Nguyen completing their braces joined by Thomas Quilligan and Nathan Niski on the scoresheet.
While Sasha Chilas and Dylan Niski both kept things tidy at the other end of the pitch, only Ahmed Sweedan found a way through in the final minute as Dural pushed to get back into the contest.
While this was a blow to Dural Warriors finals hopes, they will look to bounce back next weekend against Mountain Majik.
