Dural Warriors 8-2 Boomerangs FS
Dural Warriors secured their second win of the season scoring eight goals against Boomerangs FS in an 8-2 victory.
Their biggest victory of the season, the win takes the Warriors to ten points in their opening nine games overcoming a slow start before putting on a show at the Centre.
It’s the fourth straight defeat for Boomerangs FS who are going through a tough spell in the league. They face a massive game against Eastern Suburbs Hakoah next weekend which could determine who stays up.
The hosts started slowly in this one and deservedly found themselves trailing on the scoreboard when Nick Rathjen scored in the opening minute. However, the Warriors slowly began causing their visitors problems with Jake Basden, Ahmed Sweedan and Joshua Montgomery scoring to give the hosts a 3-1 halftime lead.
Indeed, it was the senior players who stepped up in this one with Ahmed Sweedan and Cameron Philp earning a special mention from their coach. Sweedan completing a hat-trick in the second half, Joshua Montgomery securing a brace and Cameron Philp scoring their 8th goal. While Robert Tkatchenko grabbed a late consolation for the Boomerangs.
