Eastern Suburbs Hakoah Futsal Club 5-5 Dural Warriors
Eastern Suburbs Hakoah held on against a fast-finishing Dural Warriors to book a spot in next weekend’s finals series.
Having held a 5-2 lead with five or so minutes left, Hakoah then conceded three goals to make things tense in the last minute. However, they held on to book fourth spot in the league, next facing Mascot Vipers next Saturday.
Their opposition Dural Warriors just left themselves with a little too much to do in the final five minutes. Missing out on the finals by a point, their second half of the season was impressive nearly breaking into the four.
Ahmed Sweedan got things started in this one with a goal to set his side on their way. But mistakes started to creep in and Hakoah weren’t willing to let their visitors get away with it. Emmanuel Tzanakes and Cesar Perego both scoring in the 8th minute. A 2-1 lead they held heading into the break.
Andrew Luttringer restoring parity for the visitors before three goals in six minutes came at the other end. Adam Paulsen, Jonathan Lynch and Lucas Vidal giving the hosts a 5-2 lead.
Which was pegged back to the visitor’s credit with Cameron Philp and Jamal Belkadi both finding the back of the net to make it 5-5. However, they couldn’t find the sixth goal they needed.
The draw setting up a clash between Eastern Suburbs Hakoah and Mascot Vipers next Saturday.
